Detection Services are offered for analyze dust samples with two alternative collection methods:
- Vacuum Sampling kit to collect dust from a carpet area (900 x 1800 mm) from occupants rooms like living room and bedroom.
- Mopping Cloth Sampling Kit (Swiffer®) to collect dust from rooms with not carpet, using areas like tops of interior door frames, moldings, entertainment centers, shelves, dressers, nightstands, and HVAC return vents.
Gram-negative bacteria present components in their exterior cell wall called Endotoxins. Endotoxin is a lipopolysaccharides or LPS that induces an inflammatory-response predominantly respiratory to people exposed through inhalation. Elevated airborne concentrations are prevalent in water damaged and flood contaminated buildings and environmental samples can be screened to detect endotoxins in our laboratories through a kinetic LAL Assay.
The presence of mold in a home is correlated with increased endotoxin levels. The combination of fungal detection tests (like ERMI and HERTSMI-2) and endotoxin air testing is a more comprehensive assessment for microbial contaminations in buildings.
