Services Information

Once the order is created, you will receive your sampling kit in 3-4 business days. You will get as part of the kit a pre-labeled envelope to send us your sample at no additional cost, this return service takes between 3 to 4 days (If you prefer to use another mail service to send your sample to our lab, please mail it to: Lis Biotech, 4242 Medical Drive, Suite 7325, San Antonio, Texas  78229). Once your sample is received at Lis Biotech, our laboratory will process the sample in the time chosen by you (Same Day, 1, 2, 3 or 5 days) and a report will be sent to you via email.

Quantitative PCR

qPCR stands for quantitative polymerase chain reaction and is a technology used for measuring DNA using PCR. With qPCR, all the DNA present in a sample is extracted and is then identified and quantified using fluorescent-labeled probes that are specific to the organism species of interest.

Data is derived faster and can be more accurate with qPCR than with conventional culture-based methods, resulting in a rapid way to get analytical results from samples.

Detection

Endotoxins

Gram-negative bacteria present components in their exterior cell wall called Endotoxins. Endotoxin is a lipopolysaccharides or LPS that induces an inflammatory-response predominantly respiratory to people exposed through inhalation. Elevated airborne concentrations are prevalent in water damaged and flood contaminated buildings and environmental samples can be screened to detect endotoxins in our laboratories through a kinetic LAL Assay.

The presence of mold in a home is correlated with increased endotoxin levels. The combination of fungal detection tests (like ERMI and HERTSMI-2) and endotoxin air testing is a more comprehensive assessment for microbial contaminations in buildings.

Microscopy

Indoor Air Quality Evaluation. Exposure to airborne contaminants in the indoor environment can result in a range of adverse health effects. HVAC systems can contribute to many indoor air quality issues where ventilation in the building is poor. Air samples can be analyzed under the microscope to verify mold presence.
